Which physician's formula product to buy? If you use these products please help?
I'm buying my "back-to-school" makeup soon, and I need coverage for mild acne that will last 7-8 hours. I decided I'd try physician's formula, since I've only heard good things about this make-up. I have a $20 budget for face makeup (like concealer, foundation, powder). I need to decide which products are the absolute best to buy to cover acne, and keeps my t-zone area looking as matte as possible. I've narrowed it down to these:
-Concealer Twins 2-in-1 Correct & Cover Cream Concealer (but is it oil-free? i don't want to put oils on my already oily blemishes!)
-Blemish Rx Blemish healing concealer (is there enough concealer in the product to last for about a month or more?)
-Mineral wear talc-free liquid foundation (how is the coverage on this? i am either buying the concealer or foundation, not both.)
I already know which powder I am getting, but i need opinions on the foundation/concealer! Thanks so much!
No foundation will stay on oily spots more than 2 or 3 hours on it's own. It doesn't matter how high end it is or if it claims to because it has a matte finish. I do however love the mineral wear talc free liquid foundation. It has light to full buildable coverage. It actually provides more coverage than the colorstay but unlike the colorstay it never feels like an itchy mask. Just remove the sponge applicator as its unhygienic. Use a brush you clean often or a sponge you replace daily.
The best concealer from Physicians Formula is Conceal RX. It covers everything from under eye circles to blemishes, birth marks, scars, redness etc... anything your foundation didn't basically. If you want a concealer that treats acne while covering it, ignore blemish rx and try almay clear complexion, it works better and lasts longer.
To ensure these stay on all day, use a matte moisturizer like desert essence thoroughly clean oil control lotion in the morning before makeup. This will hydrate your skin while leaving a matte finish. It balances and soothes skin, ideal underneath makeup.
After moisturizer absorbs, take a bottle of PLAIN milk of magnesia from the drugstore and use it in place of traditional primer. Shake it, get a flat top kabuki, stipple onto face and allow to dry. This is a matifying miracle and will now keep this foundation on over 8 hours.
Just set the foundation with a powder last. Mineral wear talc free in loose or pressed form is great.
