how to cut down a Down Mattress Topper to fit?
Hi, the mattress topper I have is too big for my mattress, a queen size and hangs over the sides a few inches. I am wondering can I cut this off, and sew it up? Has anyone ever done this? Thanks so much!
If you really, really want to do this, sew two parallel lines of zigzag stitches... one at the finished size, one just a bit farther out. Cut between the stitched lines and you'll minimize the amount of feathers flying around. Then I'd bind the cut edge.
If you cut first and then bind, you'll look like you got hit by an indoor blizzard.
Why not just put a fitted sheet over it and smoosh the overhang down onto the sides of the mattress?
