Arlington Heated Electric
Question About moving to TX, PLEASE HELP!!!?

i recently broke up with my fiance/bf of 2 years, and i need to get away, everything here reminds me of him (actually he broke up with me) so i am planning to move from upstate NY to a city close to Arlington TX. It is a very long trip, and would be the most adventurous thing i had ever done, therefore I want everything to go smoothly! getting a job will be no problem! however affording an apartment is what i worry about! Generally how much are utilities around there, what utilities do u pay for??? i know here we pay school taxes, water, trash, electric, phone/cable/internet, and heat! is this the same that is paid in TX, is there more? and generally how much do these utilities cost around there????

I live in Euless, which is right next to Arlington. I would recommend it over Arlington. Euless has a much lower crime rate. Check out apartments off of 360, between Harwood and Mid-Cities. We several great parks that you can walk to from the apartments in the area. We also have easy access to just about anywhere in the metroplex. The apartments can run anywhere from $550 to over $1000, depending on how many bedrooms and how fancy. I live in an older but nice complex that backs up to the park. Our 1 bedrooms start at about $600, 2 bedrooms start at about $800. The water bills depend on the size of the apartment. Ours is the biggest 2 bedroom, and the water bill is about $40. This includes trash, and gas. Our electric has been as low as $45, but as high as $200 in the summer. Our cable and internet is $100 a month, and we have Vonage for our phone, it runs $30 a month. As other people have said, there is no state tax. I am sorry about your breakup, but welcome to a fresh start in Texas! Good luck!
