how do you wash bed pillows??
I don't want to mess them up, a couple are 95% polyester fiber and urethane foam 5%; another one is 100% cotton cover and 100% polyester fiber fill; and the other 2 are 100% polyester fiber.
Are the tags still on the pillows? There would be care symbols on the tags.
I buy the quallofill (sp?) and wash them by themselves in warm water with a cold rinse cycle. I have a front-loading washer with terrific spin which gets them well wrung out. I individually dry in our dryer which has a built-in sensor that shuts the machine off before the time that I might set (if the article is dry).
They are left out on a clothes horse in a well ventilated spot so that they can completely air dry. In a day or two, I take out all my aggression on them as I punch them back into their usual shape.
I generally replace pillows every 18 to 24 months because no amount of laundering will get rid of dust mites.
